3rd Annual RHPC 1/2 Marathon

So the 3rd annual RHPC 1/2 marathon is set and ready to go!  Saturday July 16th, same bat time, same bat channel ;) ...Ok, just the same place and time :) ..no bats ALLOWED! ..unless they are pink and covered with chocolate ;)

The address is 450 W 4620 N, Provo Utah.  This is the same place where the race was last year.  The easiest way to get there is to take the Orem Center Street Exit off of I-15 and head East (toward the mountains ;)--YES- Orem, NOT Provo.  This road will magically change into 4800 N in Provo as you head east.  You are going to turn right at 300 West.  (It is the light before the light that you turn into The Riverwoods Shopping Center.)  There is a large sign that says "Vintage....something" ;)   After you turn, this road is going to eventually veer right.  As it veers right, there is a parking lot on your left, Pavilions and bathrooms.  Park here, this is where we are going to start at 6:30 AM SHARP! :)  Please arrive by 6:15am.  This will be an out and back course up and down the Provo River Trail.  Same as last year.

Michelle will be defending the coveteRHPC Rooster and her title as Queen of thRHPC.  There should be some pretty stiff competition.  This rooster is HOT!  EVERYONE wants that rooster for their coffee table!  McKenzie.. you know you want it back ;)

To register for this 1/2 marathon, all you need to do is email me at meltingmarion@gmail.com
.  Simple and easy :)  There is no fee to enter the race.  You just must bring a prize for another runner that has to do with our theme this year,
"KISS"  (Keep it simple Sista!).  This is my theme for life this year and since I am sending out the email ...I made it the theme for the RHPC 1/2 ;D  Also, you will need to bring your favorite treat to share at the end for a post race treat bash!  We had the best food last year.

Please let us know if it is your first half.  We have special awards for the first timers :)  And, please feel free to forward this to any other runners who might like to participate.  We will have the trail marked for those who would like to do shorter distances :)  5k, 10k and 10 miles.

Men are welcome.  We really love having the guys around to protect us... oops, I mean protect others from us ;)  I mean REALLY, who would dare attack a bunch of crazy women dressed in hot pink tutu's with tiaras made of Hershey Kisses :)

Please PLEASE please, dress up in your best Red Hot Pink Chick attire (it's our only protection).  You guys looked GREAT last year!  Are the fish net gloves still around????

Oh, and remember that this is not an official race.  You will need to bring your own water and fuel for the run.  There are drinking fountains along the route, two going up, and the same two going back down.  There will be NO aid stations.  The RHPC 1/2 t is officially a training run with a bunch of crazy women (and brave men) in costume with treats at the end!!
We have had SO much fun these past two years!  Please join us.  ALL are welcome, we really just need to know how many, so please PLEASE email me if you are coming!!  meltingmarion@gmail.com

-- xxxxoxoxoxoxxx (cause we all like extra kisses ;)
~Marion~

PS- we do need some help with a few things like cups, napkins and 5 gallon water jugs with water or Gatorade :)  Also, anyone want to make the Virgin Awards this year???  We can do t-shirts if anyone wants to be in charge of that.  Just let me know asap :)  AND, anyone want to do the finisher medals?  Anyone???  I think that's it.  Michelle will, very reluctantly, be bringing the rooster with her for the grand prize.

Latest Race Info!

Hello all you RHPC's (and supportive, BRAVE men)!  We have just a week until the MOST fun race in the world is HERE, July 10th, 2010!!  I am sorry if I have been a bit flaky this year, but life has had a few unexpected turns this past month and my brain has been worrying about other stuff.  Thanks to all of you who are doing SO much work to make this race happen!  I just LOVE you all!! xoxoxo
I do have an address for the start and a time and everything :)  The address is 450 W 4620 N, Provo Utah.  This is the same place where the race ended last year.  The easiest way to get there is to take the Center Street Exit off of I-15 in Orem and head East (toward the mountains ;)--YES- Orem, NOT Provo. There is a parking lot on your left, Pavilions and bathrooms.  Park here, this is where we are going to start at 6:30 AM SHARP! :)  Please arrive by 6:15am. Thank you to Josse & Luz for for mapping and marking this all out for us.  This will be an out and back course up and down the Provo River Trail.
Please also let me know if this is your first 1/2 and if you know of any guys coming.  Maurine is taking care of the "Virgin" awards and the Brave Boy awards.  THANKS, Maurine!!!
Please don't forget a treat to share at the finish and a "prize" for another runner.  This prize should have something to do with either, RED, HOT, PINK, or Chicks/chickens ;) OR Diamonds or Titanium...or all of them.  This can be a VERY silly gift.  Please think "gag gift" when you are choosing.  There will be several 5 gallon coolers with gatorade and water at the pavilion :)  If you by chance have one of those large 5 gallon coolers, would you please bring it filled with ice water???  Please let me know if you are going to bring one :)  We also need some napkins/paper towels, & cups.  Please drop me a quick line if you can help out with any of these :)
Please also note that there will be NO aide stations.  You will need to bring your own fuel and fluid.  There are potties and water at a few places on the route.
This is also officially really more of a "training run."  Please only participate if you are trained for this distance.  We want everyone to have a GREAT time with some GREAT company.  Please forward this to any others that are planning on coming.  The 5k and 10k turn arounds will be marked for those needing shorter distances.
Luz is making FABULOUS finisher medals, THANK YOU LUZ!!!
Am I forgetting anything???  Oh, if you ordered a t-shirt, please be there by 6:00 am.  Kellie will be there to collect your money and hand out the shirts to those who ordered them.  Please contact Kellie if you have any questions!  kellie@1sthomemortgage.net
Ok ladies (and gentlemen), I can't wait to see y'all!!!  Dressing up is VERY encouraged!  Let's see if anyone can top the tutu's, pink and white thigh highs and hot pink fishnet gloves!  Don't forget the lipstick!
xoxoxo to you all!  See you next Saturday, July 10th!!!

RHPC 1/2 Info

This year we will be starting at 7am.  The exact start is not set yet, but it will most likely be at the Riverwoods.  A specific address will be forthcoming. We will be running from there up into the canyon via the Provo River Trail.  It is a very gradual and gentle up hill and then we will burn it down the trail back to the start.
McKenzie will be defending the coveted RHPC Rooster and her title as Queen of the RHPC.  There should be some pretty stiff competition.  This rooster is HOT!  McKenzie, WATCH out!  Michelle is already planning a place for that bad boy!
To register for this 1/2 marathon, all you need to do is email me at meltingmarion@gmail.com .  Simple and easy :)  There is no fee to enter the race.  You just must bring a prize for another runner that has to do with our theme this year, "Diamonds & Titanium- That's what the RHPC are made of!"  Also, you will need to bring your favorite treat to share at the end for a post race treat bash!  We had the best food last year.
Please let us know if it is your first half.  We have special awards for the first timers :)
Men are welcome.  Scott will be our police presence this year again.  All this means is that he will be there to taser any of us who get out of control ;)
Please PLEASE please, dress up in your best Red Hot Pink Chick attire.  You guys looked GREAT last year!
Oh, and remember that this is not an official race.  You will need to bring your own water and fuel for the run.  There are drinking fountains along the route, two going up, and the same two going back down.  There will be NO aid stations.  I guess it is officially a training run with a bunch of crazy women in costume with treats at the end!!
